We are a community where collaboration is key, some of the events below are ongoing while some have concluded leaving room for others to begin. They are all dynamic, educational, and fun!
Coral Gables Farmer's Market
Parents shared their culinary passions combining delicious Italian dishes to sell at our annual fundraiser at the Coral Gables Farmer's Market. We sold focaccia, pizza, sweet breads, butter cookies, bruschettas, and more. The table even featured a kid's corner where little ones had fun practicing their Italian vocabulary while their parents mingled, ate, and shopped. Our most delicious program by far!
Italian Club
Founded by two amazing parents and I.I.P.A. members, Jacqueline Carini and Barbara Febbraro began the Italian Club with the purpose of enforcing the current Italian curriculum for the elementary school students of Little Carver. It quickly took momentum to become one of the most admired extracurricular programs of the Italian Studies program. Students meet every Wednesday afterschool and participate in treasure hunts, board games, music exchange and even wrote and acted in their own little theatre - an Italian version of the Three Little Pigs.
Italian Carnevale
International Studies students of Little Carver and Carver Middle united for this dynamic Italian extravaganza. An I.I.P.A. sponsored event that featured a live theater performance by professional Italian actors, who came in traditional masks and characters, and performed for the group. Children savored chiacchiere sprinkled with powder sugar and got to play traditional carnevale games. A special treat on a school day!
Natale on the Mile
The Italian studies program of Little Carver and Carver Middle unite for this annual festivity - a Christmas Italian song sung by the children right on Miracle Mile in Coral Gables. The children sang 'Ogni Giorno e Natale' (Everyday is Christmas) giving them a chance to confidently display their mastery of the Italian language through the fun format of music while touching the audience with their spirit and cheer.
